This floored me when I saw him post it. He and Maku put in a metric bucketload of work on that gallery - not just the build, but also the hard yards to get, prep and upload the contents.
Still, money’s tighter than a mosquito’s bunghole, so I’m not surprised. Also, not having to keep feeding the meter should give him and us breathing space to work out what we’re gonna do next.

Seriously forks, as this year comes to a not entirely regretted end, it’s time to pause and reflect on where we’re going with regards to little ‘Cippy’s dance card.
Mushroom Garden Party moves to Saturday
While the Monday parties are reasonably fun, the real action is at Autopilotpatty Poppy’s alley in Caledon Tammranoch, and as such Monday clashes with her gig.
Therefore, I’m moving the parties to Saturday 5pm SLT (that’s Sunday 2pm NZT), starting 31 December SLT (1 January NZT). No garden party today sorry!
Tune-Strangling hours terminated
This hour-long session between Terpischore Tuesday and the Big Brass Ball has been cut due to lack of interest.
Midnight Revels to continue
Of the events in my grove, the late Friday rave (10pm-midnight SLT, 7-9pm Sat NZT) is proving the most popular. It’s entirely likely that I’ll have to consider more late night events for night owls and those of an Antipodean time zone like myself.
Funk at The Ark… up in the air.
The Ark is not only an adult venue, but it’s proving a tough nut to crack. The people who are there at that time of night on a Wednesday seem to be more interested in using the place as a parking lot as opposed to actually dancing and communicating with others.
Also, I’ve tried dance, I’ve tried good ol’ funk and disco - spending real money getting CDs of it - but so far little seems to excite the bastards.
Seeking other venues
There are other possibilities I haven’t considered, or maybe I’m getting in a rut. Once I had a big break playing in Luskwood, but I forget about them a lot, since what happens is I login, set up, play, then tp out because I’m exhausted.
I might see about scoring a regular gig at Luskwood; I’ll definitely be staying on at Fracture.
At the same time, it may make sense for me to reconfigure myself as a late night DJ, working from 10pm-2am SLT (7-11pm NZT). This futureproofs me against future full-time employment - if not the damn olds demanding I go to bed at a reasonable time, calling me to dinner, and again with the dishes already.
Flight of the Kiwis moving again
According to my good friend and fellow Kiwi Ange, FOTK is returning to the control of the previous manager and will be moving out of New Quiet Islands to a new, custom-built set of digs. This should be a shot in the arm for the club, since Ange has been increasingly swamped with RL issues and the club itself is far away from the sim’s telehub - not good. People like to TP directly into the venue.
This should be an interesting development - I’ll keep you posted.

Goddamn unmetered weekend
I was trying to launch my weekly Midnight Revel tonight, but I had to throw up my hands due to frequent dropouts. As far as I could tell, it wasn’t just me - it was everyone.
It’s not just SL though. Glitch has been laggy as heck today, and there have been rather slow response times just browsing.
My parents inform me that TelstraClear has a promotion involving no metering this weekend. Which explains the lag - everyone’s snarfing as much as they can, no doubt.
Oh well! No doubt Sunday Evening Breakfast Serials will be an improvement.
I can only hope.
